A Tibet overland tour is a remote trekking experience carried on completely through means of land transportation. You will be passing through some of the remotest parts of Nepal, so you should be ready to live without the proper accommodation and amenities! However, the tour experience will last you a lifetime. The passes through unique landscapes, world’s highest mountain peaks, following through the world’s highest terrains. Therefore, it only gets better and adventurous with each passing trails.

The Tibet overland tour starts from near in our office at 5:00 AM, as you report, you start your journey to the Friendship Bridge [116kms/6hrs drive]. Enrobe, breakfast stop is made at the Dhulikhel lodge resort. An early start is made on the first day as china time is 2hrs 15 minutes ahead of Nepal time in winter & 3hrs 15 minutes in summer. After completing immigration formalities on the Nepal side, we drive uphill to Zhangmu [8kms/45min]-from the immigration post. It’s where you are greeted by our friendly Tibetan guide, who will take care of your entire tour arrangement.

The infrastructure of the tourism industry is still very basic in the routes that we will be opting for during the trek; however the experience is definitely unrivalled!


Outline Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) Kathmandu.
Day 2 Full day (6 hrs) guided sightseeing in Pashupatinath, Boudhanath and Patan Durbar Square. Overnight in Hotel.
Day 3 Drive from Kathmandu-Nylam
Day 4 Nyalam-Lhatse
Day 5 Lhatse-Shigatse/Xingatse
Day 6 Shigatse/Xigatse -Gyantse
Day 7 Gyantse -Lhasa
Day 8-9 Sightseeing around Lhasa
Day 10 Flight from Lhasa to onward journey
Day 11 Onward departure to your destination by our private vehicle.
Day 1 Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) Kathmandu. Welcome with bunch of flower assistance at the Airport and meet with our staff (One of our company staff will be waiting you at the Airport with display your name ".................." which is print on our company white board and pick up by our private car and than 20 minutes drive to the Hotel. After few minutes rest in hotel, Visit in our office and have hot/cold drinks (Tea/Coffee) waiting to serve and have join together, One of our staff will brief you regarding the trip. O/N at hotel.
Day 2 Full day (6 hrs) guided sightseeing in Pashupatinath, Boudhanath and Patan Durbar Square. Overnight in Hotel.
Day 3 Our Tibet overland tour starts with an early morning drive to Kodari, which is in the Nepali boarder post. From Kodari we drive up to the Zhang Mu clearing the Chinese immigration continuing the journey up to beautiful George of Nylam. On the route you will get to enjoy the clear view of the Langtang, Gaurisankar, Melungtse and Khumbu Himal range.
Day 4 Our first stop on the Tibetan plateau will be on the 5200 m. high Lalung la pass from where we have a breathtaking view of the himalayan range and Shisabangma, the highest peak in Tibet. While having lunch in Lao Tingri, the peaks of Mt. Everest (Qomolongma in Tibetan) and Cho Oyu can be seen. This day our journey is long but the spectacular Tibetan plateau will make you forget time. Altitude 4000m.
Day 5 A four hour drive brings us to Tibet's second largest city, Shigatse. Here we visit Tashilumpo Monastery, the seat of the Panchen Lama, hence one of the most important monasteries in Tibet. Altitude 3800m.
Day 6 After a stroll though the old city we depart for the two and a half hour drive to Gyantse. While approaching the small farming town we can clearly see the old fort that was captured by Young husband during his 1904 raid into Tibet. Here the main attraction is the Kumbum monastery with its extraordinary architecture. Altitude 3900 m.
Day 7 This will be a long drive, but on the way we cross the Karo-la with the beautiful glacier, we see Yamdrok Tso which is named the Turquoise lake and cross the Kamba-la from where we descend to the main road which bring us all the way to Lhasa. Altitude 3650 m.
Day 8-9 During these two days in Lhasa. we visit the Potala palace, Drepung and Sera Monasteries and of course the famous Jokhang temple including the surrounding Barkhor.
Day 10 we have to get up very early for our transfer to Gonggor airport to catch the flight back to Kathmandu and Join us for the farewell dinner at Nepali typical restaurant in the evening at 07:00 PM with culture program.
Day 11 Onward departure to your destination by our private vehicle. 3 hrs before you have to be airport
